Texas and Louisiana

Commuting between Texas and Louisiana has been tiring but important over the past few months.  Things are stirring in both places.  Happy to make new personal and professional friends in the Houston area and always happy to see and work with wonderful musicians from New Orleans.  My friends in both places are quietly creating new possibilities.

Ready for 2012

The Key to success is remembering to put yourself totally into everything around you.  I look forward to thinking about, contacting, and engaging with the great organizations, schools, and performers of Houston as I extend my hand in the professional arena here.  So far, it appears that the city operates rather unscathed by the difficulties of many other parts of the US.

Peace in 2012!  Thanks to family back in the Hunstville, AL area for an important week together after two years of deep processing and mourning the loss of our Mother and best friend, Joyce M. Kelly.

NOLA

I have been in NOLA for just over a week.  The spirit of celebration is everywhere.  BonOperatit! has appeared throughout the city in various venues.  You can click onto www.bonoperatit.com to hear the most recently uploaded YouTube sample.

Grateful to friends for providing me with a beautiful place to rest and wonderful lunches and evenings out.  Looking forward to future possibilities here!

NOLA and Houston

I am certainly finding that moving between Houston and NOLA keeps life bustling.  BonOperatit! performed to a thrilling crowd at the IOB and continued with its recording project.  AMDA auditions put me in touch with excellent professionals working for these schools in both LA and New York City.  Since the auditions were held on the LSU campus, I was able to see a part of the university that was previously unfamiliar to me.  I also visited a day later with co-anchor Donna Britt, who has been a friend since the USM days.  Now, back in Houston, I have had a chance to reconnect professionally and personally with a friend who is now working with the Houston Grand Opera Company.  Looking forward to further visits, professional connections, and exploration over the next three weeks.
